well, our Fourth was a busy one! aaron and i participated in the peachtree road race for the first time. notice i didn't use the word 'run/ran' b/c i didn't think it would be so honest since i could only actually run half of it (3 miles). the other half was more of a walk/run, if you will. :) but the experience was fun, and i'm glad i was able to see what all the hype was about. it was a little nuts, actually b/c there were bands set up on the sides of the road as well as radio stations jamming out! OH and you can NOT forget about the politicians set up with huge signs (as if i'm going to think about my political stance when all i can think about is getting one foot in front of the other) and the priest at 'Jesus Junction' sprinkling Holy water on everyone passing by. i let some sprinkle on my leg-thought i might need it for later as i cursed 'Cardiac Hill.' aaron kept telling me after my first race i would be an addict b/c of the high you get from it all. the only high i got was when i heard a song i liked being blasted through one of the speakers and...i'm still waiting to feel that "runners' high"...so, needless to say, that might be the only race i do, if i do it again. just a little mundane, running. i much prefer a game to be involved in the running or maybe just go dancing! yes! now, THERE'S a TRUE cardio workout!!!

other than the excitement of the road race, we grilled out with aaron's and my parents. then saturday morning, warren and i headed up to asheville to a party at my sister's while aaron stayed here to help with parking at church...and of course work on monday. warren had so much fun playing with bear in the kiddie pool at home, and then up at his cousins' kitchen in the playroom. he also found a golf club that he carried around for quite a bit, making his father oh-so-proud! warren also obtained his first 'shiner' up in asheville. he walked into hayden making his cars 'fly.' it was so sad but he looks pretty cute! and his dad said he looks 'tough!'
all in all, it was a great, eventful Fourth of July sans fireworks! (my body wouldn't allow me to get dressed presentable enough to go out and view some...) so, until next time...the summer just keeps going!!!
