W's First Beach Trip...Take THREE!

well, we just got back from the beach with my parents (watts) and i am calling this 'w's first beach trip take three" b/c the first 2 times really didn't count. he was so young he had no idea what was going on or even where he was...HOWEVER, funny how much things change within a year! this time was COMPLETELY different! he was VERY aware of the beach and made us VERY aware he was NOT a fan! it was THE funniest thing but sad at the same time! we walked to the bottom of the stairs and stepped our feet onto the sand...we were so glad to be there! but when i lowered warren to the sand and his big toe just so much as grazed the beautiful powder, he let out a scream that you could hear for miles!!!!!!!!!! he clinched onto me like i was about to throw him into a pit. it was so sad...but i got the funniest picture of him standing ON a towel- please note- STILL screaming! he was NOT having it!! he finally got used to it and thanks to my parents, "Ga-ga & Pa Pa", he was fine once he was sitting in laps. he also enjoyed just sitting in his stroller... we knew it might be a bit of a challenge b/c it took several times on the grass to get accustomed to the texture, but i just couldn't believe how absolutely terrified he was of the sand! we tried everyday a little more 'exposure.' but nope! maybe our trip in august will hold better results! although warren didn't enjoy the beach so much- we did! i managed to get a little 'color' but none compared to years previous to our precious non-beach baby! but c'est la vie! pics soon to come!
