putting warren to bed at night almost always brings a laugh. a few weeks ago, i was singing "Jesus loves me" and decided i would get creative and change it to "Jesus loves warren." well, warren had other people and THINGS in mind he wanted to sing about that Jesus loved. such as...his obsessive love for aaron's dad's blower-which he calls "pop blow." so, we were sitting there quietly and i was singing "Jesus loves me" and he interrupts me and says "Jesus loves pop blow." the child wanted me to sing "Jesus loves pop's blow this i know..." !!!!!!! i tried not to bust out laughing b/c i want to keep things mellow at bedtime...right! so, i said no, not going to sing that one so he suggested "Jesus loves bear" (our dog) maybe but not so much...its pretty cute what all he comes up with and while i am sure Jesus thinks its just precious hearing warren say all these things with such innocence, i felt the need to keep my laughing under wraps and stick with actual people "Jesus loves." so, onto the next song of the night, "twinkle twinkle little star." ok- this one is funnier than the first, i think. we went to the beach a few weeks ago with aaron's family as well as his sister's mother-in-law, gladys. warren remembers EVERYONE's name, and i began to sing 'twinkle twinkle' a week or so after we returned. he wanted to change that song as well but to say 'twinkle twinkle little gladys' instead!!! i just about fell out of the chair! this little man comes up with THE funniest things practically on a daily basis to which i answer to him that his little sister will have some big shoes to fill in the entertainment department! some of his other funny phrases are:
"i don't like it!" (funny b/c there's the slightest british accent in there-crazy!)
"hold on kids!"
"oh mercy!" (origin: aunt kelli, my sister)
"i pee pee in potty for suh-plises?!"
and i know there's more but my mind is drawing a blank- i've been bad about not writing them down as he says them...but i'm sure there'll be more!! he is THE funniest little guy i know and by far my favorite entertainment! i can't wait to hear what he has to say next...better watch my mouth!
continuing on to other bedtime related things...he's learned to climb out of his crib-the 'big boy bed' is on the way. so, every single night when i lay him down, he says, ' i climb out.' and i have to tell him 'no, do not climb out.' but that doesn't always do the trick. most nights we hear him climb out of his crib, LOCK HIS DOOR-HA!, and do who knows what in his room until i can get down the hall because as soon as i hear the lock, i go knock on the door and he yells-or sometimes whispers- "coming!!!" then we start over...usually only happens once or twice, thank goodness! i just hope he doesn't decide to do this during a 2am feeding once baby sister arrives!
