Labor Day Fun!!!

Our labor day weekend was quite eventful! we kicked it off celebrating aaron's 33rd birthday at home after welcoming his sister,tonia and her family from az. after having too much yummy TCBY ICECREAM CAKE(!) we trucked it down to hilton head for the week for a last little family vacay with all the gages before our newest little one arrives (due in 5 weeks). we had great weather with great company in a wonderful condo where there was NO ONE!! it was so nice! almost like it was our own private getaway. it seemed everyone went somewhere else, if anywhere, but where we were. loved it! anyway, we had great weather but we didn't get to take full advantage as warren is STILL NOT having anything to do with the beach! we were able to get him out there, but, again, he sat in someone's lap or in a chair-no sandcastles again...sniff sniffs from his daddy... warren kept saying, 'i don't like it!' funny thing is, when he says what seems to have become his little coined phrase, it comes out with an english accent! hilarious!!!!! of course i LOVE hearing it b/c i love an english accent but we have no idea how or why it comes out that way! we had a great visit with tonia, arden, baby cousin caleb, and arden's mother, gladys, as well as aaron's parents. we enjoyed watching warren interact, or not(!), with is 10 month old cousin, caleb. this was the first time we were with them for a long period of time where warren would have the chance to watch and kind of show him some attention. warren has a few favorite toys that stay-or used to stay- at cc & pop's (aaron's parents) but they brought them to the beach and warren marked them "his" as soon as he realized caleb would be around to possibly get ahold of one. he wasn't all that interested in caleb and kind of steered clear as caleb would grab onto him at times and made warren question his actions and look to us for help. it was pretty funny! he did 'help' give caleb his bottle a few times though which was really sweet. warren and aaron also kind of had their own little ritual in the mornings. for some reason, warren wanted to rise just a little bit before the sun each morning but luckily, aaron would take him down to the quiet, peaceful beach every morning and they would sit and watch the sun rise as well as watch any passersby that might've been crazy enough to get up that early on vacations! i enjoyed at least an extra hour of sleep during their time out. the gages rented bicycles for us also(well, not me of course) and warren had his first real bike ride! he loved it!! there was a fire station not far from our condo where warren was able to sit and play in a REAL firetruck! i think THAT made his trip! too bad it was sunrise b/c i didn't get any pics. it was a great trip but we marveled in the site of our own beds when we returned...oh did i mention we were up for the sunrise EVERY morning?! (the joy of having a 2 yr old-captured a pic below) now onto other bigger things...like getting the nursery ready...!!!
